#TIGER CENSUS REPORT RELEASED/SEE THE RESULTS.

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on 29 July 2020 released tiger cencus report

ahead of INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY.


:He also dedicated the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD to the people on the same day.

:The record recognises India's efforts in monitoring its tiger population as the world's

largest camera-trap survey of Wildlife.

  • Saint Petersburg Declaration on Tiger Conservation was signed by the countries in 2010 to double the number of tigers by 2022.


Delhi: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State Babul Supriyo on Tuesday released Tiger Census report ahead of International Tiger Day on Wednesday.

Releasing the report, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "India has 50 tiger reserves and none of them are poor quality." 






According to a report on AIR, Javadekar will also dedicate the Guinness world record to the people on Tuesday on the eve of Global Tiger Day 2020. 



The record recognises India's efforts in monitoring its tiger population as the world’s largest camera-trap survey of wildlife.

The country now has nearly 70 per cent of the global tiger population, the report suggested.

The governments of the 13 tiger range countries have resolved to double the number of tigers by 2022.

For this purpose, Saint Petersburg Declaration on Tiger Conservation was signed by the countries in 2010.
